 ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS

Welcome to Area 45's web page. The General Service Area 45 Committee and Assembly are A.A. entities whose members represent their respective Groups. In their proceedings and actions they elect the Delegate to the General Service Conference and develop the Southern New Jersey A.A. voice to each other and to A.A. as a whole.

Southern New Jersey was formed as part of the first Conference and is scheduled to hold elections every odd year. Term of office for those elected is two years, commencing with January 1 in an even year and completing on December 31 in the odd year following.

Elected members of the Panel coordinate their activities in order to serve the Area. A suggested activity schedule description for each Panel, Section, District, and each Area Committee office is included in our service manual, as well as an outline of GSR activities. Each office plays its role in contributing to the well-being of A.A. in our Area. Our primary purpose is clearly stated for our Districts, Committees, and the Assembly as a whole in the Fifth Tradition:

"Each group has but one primary purpose - to carry its message to the alcoholic who still suffers"

We cover the Southern half of New Jersey which is roughly from Trenton east to Barnegat Bay and everything south including Trenton, Princeton, Camden, Atlantic City, Cape May, Cherry Hill and Salem. We are subdivided into four sections which contain a total of 26 Districts. Our site has information on our annual convention held every March, our Young People's events, and our annual Correction and Treatment Facilities Conference, District events and home group anniversaries as well as minutes of our Assembly and Committee meetings, group contributions (thank you), information on our committees and other news about what is going on in Area 45 of interest to those we serve.
