Web Site Guidelines

 

1.     The Area 45 Web Site will be registered in the Assembly’s name with the InterNIC, which controls domain registration on the Internet as:

www.snjaa.org

2.     The Southern New Jersey Area 45 Chair will be named as the owner of the domain registration. The billing contact shall be the Area 45 Treasurer.

 

3.    The technical contact for the web site must necessarily be the site’s Internet Service Provider. This account shall be held in the name of the Area       Chairperson who has direct control over the technical access to the site.

Note: the Area Chair person referred to above is a generic name and not the personal name of the person holding the position. On the application, "Chair of the Area 45 Assembly" will be written in as the applicant’s name. This will preserve anonymity and allow for continuity through rotation.

 4.    The Administration of the Web Site shall be as follows:

The Assembly shall have a Web Site Committee, which shall have direct oversight of the Web Site. The committee shall be a Standing Committee of Area 45.

The purpose of the committee shall be to establish and maintain the Web Site according to the guidelines adopted by the Area Assembly.

The committee shall be responsible for finding the best prices for goods and services while maintaining the strictest adherence to all of A.A.’s Traditions, particularly in matters of being self-supporting and maintaining anonymity. Observing the Traditions shall take precedence over any consideration in matters related to money or information.

The Web Site committee chair shall designate additional members of Alcoholics Anonymous to serve as members of a Web Site Committee subcommittee known as the Webteam:

 

                        a. The Webteam shall consist of the Web Site Committee Chair,  Web Site Coordinator and an Alternate Web Site Coordinator.

 

                        b. The Webteam shall be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the Web Site. Such maintenance will include backing up files on a bi-weekly basis as well as implementing changes to the information posted.

 

                       c. The Webteam shall have equal and full technical access to the Web Site, including file transfer privileges and control of Web Site e-mail.

                       d.   Unilateral actions taken regarding the Web Site, without prior approval of the entire Webteam and/or the Area Assembly may result in the removal of the Webteam members access to the Web Site

     

                       e. Only the Webteam shall have the ability to make changes to the Web Site and shall have sole responsibility for maintaining appropriate security of the Web Site and the information it contains.

 

                       f. The Webteam shall delegate the responsibilities of the administration of the Web Site among themselves and shall keep the Web Committee informed of the Web Site organization and operation in writing.

 

                        g.  As trusted servants, the Webteam shall be authorized to make changes to the Web Site, as they deem necessary. Should irreconcilable dispute arise within the Webteam, the Web Site chair shall bring these matters before the entire Web Site committee to be resolved. In any case, the Webteam shall not at any time violate the spirit of these guidelines.

                   

                       h.  The Webteam shall display, when possible, the Web Site at every Area 45 Assembly and Area 45 Committee meeting. Comments and suggestions for alterations and changes will be considered if submitted in writing.

                      

                       i.  The Web Site committee shall maintain a current paper copy of all information displayed on the Web Site. This paper copy shall be available for review by anyone at all Area Assembly and Committee meetings.

 

                        j.   The Web Site committee shall regularly canvass the Area Assembly to ascertain whether or not the Web Site is fulfilling its purpose.
