Area 45 Committee Meeting
May 16, 2004
SECTION AND DCM REPORTS
SECTION I: JANET S.:
I would like to welcome to all new GSR’s and DCM’s. Your commitment to Service
is greatly appreciated.
Thank you Section 3 for your hospitality and wonderful lunch.
Section 1 is alive and well.
On March 31,2004 I attended the districts 25,30, &31, business meeting, along
with Area 45’s chairperson Fred E. There was a question of violation of
Tradition #6, which was explained in detail by our Chairperson.
The question of redistricting also came up, and the explanation was given. Fred
reiterated that Area 45 would make the determination for redistricting.
Districts 25,30, &31 will have a picnic this summer held in Mercer County Park.
More information to follow.
.
On April 8,2004 I attended the business meeting of Districts 22&23. Three active
attendees who are out there, promised to bring more live ones to future business
meetings, so that Districts Elections may be held. It was necessary to make
certain contacts to establish the bank account for Section 1. We now have
$100.00 in our account.
Our DCM from districts 25,30,&31, Chris H. has agreed to contact the parties
involved to secure the hall for the next Area 45Assembly meeting will be held
Aug. 8th, 2004 at Carlslake Community Center,in Bordentown, NJ. Directions will
be in the Fourth Dimension.
DISTRICT 1 & 2: NONE
DISTRICT 3: BOB P.:
The balance as of 5-16 is $557.67. I would like to thank the High Nooner’s Group
in Willingboro for their continual financial support. I did attend the Area 45
Convention.
DISTRICT 4: NONE
DISTRICT 22 & 23: NONE
DISTRICT 24: MIKE R.:
All is well in District 24. Or Unity Picnic will be held on July 18th 2004 at
Rosedale Lake Park. Directions will be on the website. Please join us for a
great time.
DISTRICT 25, 30 & 31: CHRIS H.:
1. Please welcome Peter K, Alt. GSR for the Hightstown Early Birds, and
Randi Jackson Alt. GSR, with Aidan Rooney GSR for Rocky Hill. I
don’t have Aidan and Randy's email addresses yet, but will get them and all
contact info to Vickie so we can update our contact list. Our Monday night
DNO on the 3rd was wonderful. Cindy and I got to meet Greg Caravello,
contact for the Princeton House Open 1st Step 8:30 PM meeting. It's a
great group offering help and assistance to heart of where it needs to be.
2. We are still in need of a Treasurer, so should you know anyone who
wishes to get involved in service, please pass it on!
3. Our Districts have decided not to host our annual picnic, but to rather
focus our energy on familiarizing ourselves with our meetings, and creating
a monthly flyer to alert all of meeting, district, and area events to help
better carry the message.
4. Fred, Janet, and Laurie were able to assist us with a group
discrepancy. There was concern by one group that another was breaking
traditions, and that the district escalate these concerns to area to find
out how to handle it. In the long run, the message that came back was of the
following:
"Any group who uses materials (tapes, CD's, books, etc.) that are not
conference approved, is breaking the traditions. This being said, that
group is now considered an outside issue, which by the way we have no
opinion on. If you don't like it, don't go. If you really don't like it,
attend their business meeting and tell them. If they change, Great! If
not, don't go!" "Vote with your feet."
SECTION II: JOE H.:
Thank you to Section III for hosting today.
I went to NRASSA in February which gave me a lot of ideas. In March Section II
hosted the Mini-Conference in Collingswood and was a great success. Thank you to
all who help in Section II to make that possible. Currently I am re-districting
District 8. It will split off into two Districts, the second to become the new
District 27. A current list of this split has been given to the chairperson and
is available. I will also be working with all of the GSR’s in the Section to
elect new DCM’s for the vacancies. The November Assembly will be in Audubon Park
Recreation Center. Directions will be posted on the website. I will continue to
visit groups in the Section to introduce myself and help the Section move
forward and better carry AA’s message. Thank you to the panel for supporting me
in all my efforts.

I’m very pleased to report that our District has been very active this year. On

certainly hope to continue putting on these workshops in order to raise our

service work and it’s benefits to everyone. I want to express my heartfelt
gratitude to all the GSR’s who helped to make that workshop a success.
