Policy & Charter

 This committee realizes that the Twelve Traditions represent the combined experience, history, and spiritual foundation of Alcoholics Anonymous.  The Policy and Charter committee utilizes these Traditions as the guiding principles for Area functions and activities.

Within the framework of the Traditions and Concepts, this committee updates and maintains the Area Handbook.  It also discusses matter of “policy” and subsequently makes recommendations to the Assembly when changes may be required.

The Chairperson of this committee may also serve as “Area Parliamentarian,” standing ready to assist the Area Chairperson in matters concerning Area policy and proper rules of order, during Assembly and Committee meetings.
